Hi, I am Lizzy. I have been around horses all of my life. I was born and raised on my family horse farm. When I was only two, my mom says she used to sit me on her big hunter, when I would cry. She said I would immediately get a big smile on my face sitting on a horse. I love my horses. I appreciate my horses! Each and every day I strive to be the very best that I can be for my horses!
When I was little I enjoyed playing with my horses like they were pets, as much as I liked riding. My first pony was a very small paint pony named “Scooter” with a heart on his rump. Scooter liked to buck when he was ridden, so I rode him mostly just on a lounge line or lead. I took Scooter everywhere. I used to lead Scooter and pull my cairn terrier “Duffy” alongside in a wagon. We purchased Toby at an auction, when I was three. Toby wasn’t broke to ride, but he did drive. We used to drive Toby up and down the driveway and around the farm. I thought this was great fun. Now, I ride every horse at our farm and work with them to do whatever they might do best….tricks, liberty, jumping!!! They all have different personalities and talents!
Riding horses for me is about ……learning everything that they have to teach me and being the very best I can be for them. I have completely embraced the amazing journey that they are taking me on! Being born with only one hand, they have taught me to problem solve and think. I have had to embrace the role that balance and communication play in the training and riding of my horses, which has been a blessing in disguise! I hug my horses every day and thank them!
I love to teach and have been blessed with the opportunity to teach and perform at some of the biggest horse events around the country. Taiji means achieving “The Supreme Ultimate as a result of Perfect Balance and Harmony” I enjoy helping others to find their balance and embrace and discover their own “Supreme Ultimate”….whatever that may be! Imagine a world in perfect balance and harmony….with every person and horse living “their supreme ultimate”……Wouldn’t that be an amazing world! Lizzy
